Sphinx Regout

On a visit to the Princessehof Museum in Leeuwarden in 2009, Scott became aware of (the unexpected) production of transferware in Maastricht, Holland. The patterns were mainly English in origin and included Willows and Wild Rose patterns. Sphinx Regout produced these wares between 1836 and 1969.

In 2014 during a 2 year research fellowship at MIRIAD, Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design Scott was investigating the digital re-animation of industrial print material. The Sphinx/Ragout  archives form part of the Memory of the Netherlands web site where everything can be accessed online Рhere.

As part of his research he visited the Limburg Centre for Social History, Maastricht in April 2014.
